A few weeks ago I stumbled on a very cute blog, The Nectar Collective, by a designer named Melyssa. I like it a lot because it is well designed and features helpful post on blogging, entrepreneurship, and generally living a positive life.
One of my favorite features of the blog, however, is Melyssa’s “Weekly Wishes” link-up. Weekly Wishes is a weekly series where Melyssa posts her goals, or “wishes”, for the week and invites other bloggers to do the same. The bloggers who share their weekly wishes are encouraged to comment on each others blogs and offer support to each other for whatever it is they are trying to do for the week.
Because I love goal setting and I like the growing community behind Weekly Wishes, I’ve decided to join! Plus, I think it’ll be a great accountability tool week to week. Below are my wishes for this week:
- I want to follow through with the blogging plan I’ve created in Trello and actually post everyday this week, except Sunday. (*gasp!*) I have post topics plotted out for the rest of the month but I’m challenging myself to follow-through just this week to see if I can actually do it.
- I really need to stick to my grocery budget this week. Last week was the first week since being married where I had to grocery shop for both me and my husband. We budgeted $150 a week for groceries, but of course, I ended up spending $216 last week. As it turns out, I bought more food than we ended up eating so we still have stuff left over that I can use for meals this week. My goal is balance out the budget by spending no more than about $85 to get us through the rest of the week.
- I want to set aside time to go more in-depth with my bible reading. I’m on one of those “Bible in a year” plans where you read a passage from The Old Testament, The New Testament, and either Psalms or Proverbs. This is great because you get a lot of variety, but sometimes I feel like I only get a superficial understanding of some passages because the plan has you read something new everyday. Since I do the “in a year” reading in the mornings, I want to spend some time in the evenings before bed going over passages I read that I didn’t understand the first time around.
- I need to drink more water. Seriously, I’m surprised I’m even alive with how little water I drink. It’s not even that I drink a lot of soda or other non-water beverages. I simply just don’t drink liquids throughout the day! I have a 1 liter Camelback water bottle that I fill up every morning but I’m ashamed to say most days I don’t even finish it. It is my goal to drink at least 2 liters full of water everyday. I know that’s still not enough but its a start.
