Weekly Wishes is a weekly link-up (via Melyssa @ The Nectar Collective) where I share my goals or “wishes” for the week along with other bloggers.
Last Week’s Goals
Last week, my goals were to:
- Draw 3 (ugly) doodles in my sketchbook.
- Start one of HangtightwMarC‘s diet challenges.
- Go on online and find a new workout.
- Read at least one book chapter everyday.

Draw in my sketchbook. I did not draw at all in my sketchbook! At first I felt bad but after reflecting why I just can’t seem to make drawing a priority, I realized its because I’m involved in honing another creative skill right now: writing. I really wanted to commit to drawing because I felt like I was losing my creativity and it would help keep me sharp, but then I realized that I’m engaging my creativity everyday when writing for this blog! On top of that, I am actively reading books about writing and practicing my technique almost everyday; I just never thought of it as a creative pursuit. So since I’m so involved with that right now, I give myself permission not to draw everyday in my sketchbook.
Start one of HangtightwMarC‘s diet challenges. When I first committed to doing one of her diet challenges, I didn’t consider the fact that I had already planned out my meals and bought groceries for the week, which meant I couldn’t do any of the “no dairy” or “no gluten” challenges. Instead, I just opted to do her “drink more water challenge.” I was able to drink a little more than the 1 liter of water/day that I currently average, but I still wasn’t able to get to a full 2 liters/day like I wanted to. I’ll keep working to up my water intake.
Go on online and find a new workout. I did find a new workout plan but not in the way I expected! As I was going through all the workout plans online, I realized my workout funk is because I need a break from traditional weight training. I was just bored with going to the gym, picking the same weights/machines, and working the same body parts. To add some variety, I’ve decided to do bootcamp classes offered at my gym mixed with high-intensity workouts from Zuzka Light or the Nike Training Club app on my iPhone. I love these types of workouts because they pack a ton of intensity in a short amount of time.
Read at least one book chapter everyday. On my last weekly wishes post, I got a great comment from Keirsten who suggested that I opt to read for 30 minutes every evening before bed. I’ve been doing this and I love it — more often than not I can get through more than one chapter!
This Week’s Goals
I don’t know if you saw, but this weekend I officially launched my new mastermind group for women interested in entrepreneurship, The B-Side! I’m really excited about this project because I personally want to be an entrepreneur and I know there are other women out there who want to as well. I figure if we share or business-related goals and keep each other accountable, we should all eventually reach our business dreams! If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please join!
Because I really want the B-side to be successful, my only major goal for this week (and the rest of the month actually) is to follow through on the goals I shared on my first B-side post.
I’m also going to suspend doing “weekly wishes” for a while so I can concentrate on The B-Side, since I’ll be posting B-Side goals regularly too. I figured it’d be redundant to post my weekly goals AND my monthly business goals.
