Last Week’s Goals

Wow, it’s Monday again! Crazy how quickly a week can fly by! Last week, my goals were to:

  1. Post everyday
  2. Stick to the grocery budget
  3. Do in-depth Bible reading
  4. Drink more water

Blog Posting. I did a really good job with my posting last week, I’m actually really proud of myself! Posting consistently has always been a struggle for so I’m hoping this is a theme I can continue.

Grocery Budget. I did well here! I got lucky because there was so much food leftover from the previous week, so I didn’t need to buy a ton of stuff at the store. Our grocery budget is pretty much balance now, I just need to keep it up for the rest of the month!

In-depth Bible reading. I still read pretty much every morning but I didn’t get a chance to do the in-depth study that I really wanted to. I need to do better at making it a priority this week.

Drink more water. I’m up to about a liter a day with my water drinking. That is still not enough – especially because I workout 5 days/week – but it’s a start. Hopefully I can get up to at least 2 liters a day pretty soon.

This Week’s Goals

All in all, I think I did okay with last weeks goals. I’m most impressed with how successful I was at blogging! I’m really happy that I ended up joining this weekly link-up; now that I’m sharing my intentions of the week, I feel like I’m held accountable which is great motivation for me actually following through!

This week, my goals are to:

1. In depth Bible study!!! I’m not giving up! I need to make more time for God, reading a few chapters in the morning is not enough. This is my top goal for this week.

2. Draw in my sketch book. Once upon a time, I used make art. I used to love to draw and paint, and I even taught art to underprivileged youth when I lived in DC. It’s been 4 or 5 years since I’ve drawn or painted seriously and that makes me just sooo sad. I know I need to get back into it or I’ll forever be disappointed with myself. I figure doodling in a sketch book a few days this week is a good place to start.

3.  Come up with a new workout plan. I LOVE lifting weights but my current workouts have been really uninspiring. I feel like I do the same things over and over again. This week I want to flip through my fitness magazines and design a new workout plan that will get me out of my gym rut.

4. Detox. I really need to detox. I usually do a 3 day smoothie detox at the beginning of the year after eating all that heavy holiday food, but I didn’t have a chance to because I got married in January then immediately went on my honeymoon.

Since getting back, I’ve been so focused on just getting dinner on the table everyday that I haven’t put a priority on eating super healthy. I really want to get back to my clean diet and I need a jump start.

This week, my goal is to have a green smoothie every morning for breakfast, salad for lunch, and cabbage soup for at least three consecutive days as part of the detox. I found out about the cabbage soup detox from my blogger friend and fellow health nut, MarC of Hang Tight w/ Marc. She said the cabbage soup detox jumpstarted her when she first began eating healthy, so I’m hoping it can do the same for me!

So that’s all I got! What are your “wishes” for this week?
