As a mildly type-A personality, I'm notorious among my friends and family for getting on "kicks". I can't really help it -- when I come across a new product, concept, or idea that speaks to me, I get really obsessed passionate about it and try to incorporate it in my life as much as I can. Every Wednesday, I'll be taking a little time to go in-depth about products, concepts, or ideas that I've been "into" lately. Whatever it is that I'm into this week, hopefully it inspires you and you can get into it to!

Visualizing Success

"What’s something all successful people have in common? They create powerful rituals and visualize their results before they happen." - Lewis Howes

One of the new habits that I've started this year is to say positive affirmations to myself every morning while looking in the mirror. At first it felt really silly and I could barely look into my own eyes without cracking myself up, but I've found that the more that I do it, the more upbeat and determined I feel about achieving the things that are important to me.I say all kinds of positive things to myself about every area of my life, but one affirmation that I make sure to tell myself every morning is "I am a successful entrepreneur." I am not an entrepreneur just yet actually, but it is my goal to be one, so I say it in the present tense as a reminder to myself to behave like one during the day.Since I've started this, I find that I do in fact act more entrepreneurial during the day. For instance, I don't procrastinate nearly as much as I used to, I'm coming up with more business ideas, and I'm taking more consistent steps in areas that I used to be really inconsistent with (like blogging!).In addition to my behavior actually changing since saying positive things to myself, I've also notice that I've developed really clear vision of what I want my entrepreneurial life to look like when I get there. While I've always had a broad vision of what it will be like when I become a successful entrepreneur, lately that picture has gotten super clear and the craziest details are really standing out and inspiring me. This is what I mean...

What I Envision

Home Offices

Like, I literally cannot even envision my entrepreneurial dream without these beautiful home office images coming to mind! It's crazy but I don't know, something about a beautiful home office really inspires me.

Curly Haired Daughters

When I think about getting up in the morning and going to my beautiful home office, I also see myself having beautiful little daughters running into the room, jumping on me and wanting to play. I don't want any kids for a few years but when I do have them, especially little girls, I want to be available for them, which is a big part of me wanting to be an entrepreneur. In my vision, I specifically see daughters because I want to be a great example for them, where they see that "mommy" is successful and that they can do anything they put their minds to.

My Own Webshow

When I saw this video from Myliek, founder of CurlBox, I was super inspired! Her story is really unique but most of all, I love the idea of sharing helpful advice and "behind the scenes" peeks in your business, which is something that I see myself doing when I become a successful entrepreneur.

Marley Twist

I have wanted to do this to my hair for the longest, but I haven't yet because I work in a mildly conservative environment and I don't want to come off as too "bohemian" at work. But in real life, I am completely bohemian! In my visions of myself as a free-spirited entrepreneur, I completely see myself rocking Marley Twists from time to time.

No seriously, I always see myself as the kind of entrepreneur that is super chic but really laid-back and approachable, too. To me, this look from Solange just completely nails it and represents how I want to present myself to the world as a successful business owner.

When I envision my success, I literally think of all of those things. I know some of them are quirky, but that's the beauty of visualization: you can envision the life YOU are trying to create, down to the smallest details. It's only when you get honest about all the things, big and small, that you want out of life that you can create a vision that actually inspires you to take action towards your goals.

So what are you goals? What are some of the unique details of your desired life's picture that you envision for yourself?
