Hello All!
Today I’m announcing a new book I’m reading as a part of my bookclub, Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead, by Sheryl Sandberg.

After hearing about this book from everyone and their mama (well, my mama actually…) I’ve decided to bite the bullet and see what Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg has to say about succeeding professionally as a woman. I will post a thorough review after I have finished reading it, but for now I will say that I am pretty excited to check it out. The book has received a lot of praise on all major media outlets but there has been a mild backlash concerning this book too. I’m not entirely sure what the criticism are (She’s a rich white woman? She went to Harvard? She has a nanny???) but I figured a book that can cause this much fanfare in such a short amount of time is worth reading.
If you’d like to join me in reading Lean In, please join my bookclub on Goodreads! It’s really easy to join and you can post comments and thoughts about the book as you read amongst 120 (and growing!) other women who are a part of the group!
Have you read this book? What are your thoughts? Do you think Sheryl Sandberg’s advice is relevant to your career aspirations?

I'm just really getting plugged in into the Houston entrepreneurial space and I'm the first one to tell you that people reflect back what you believe about yourself.
